The short lived (1981-1983) Imperial was Chrysler’s top of the line car. The first American car to have fully electronic fuel injection it also had a digital dashboard. However sales were slow and the fuel injection proved troublesome.
Lee Iacocca is credited for saving Chrysler from bankruptcy in the early eighties. After rebuilding the company he spearheaded the release of more efficient automobiles: The flagship of this was to be known as the K-Car line of sedans.
